It’s not that often we have a home grown baby in the house, so this was a rather special visit. This delightful baby girl, was mesmerised with so many faces to meet and so were we as she was happily passed around bringing cheer to us all, with her lovely smile.
Although we were all cooing, we didn’t hear a peep as the gorgeous daughter of one of the team happily cuddled up to some of the residents and our team. We are sure she will be making many more memories for our residents as she grows up and continues her visits.
In our somewhat segregated lifestyle where grandchildren are often many miles away we feel it’s really important to integrate the young and older generations. At Ashton Lodge we actively encourage visits from all the family, young people provide the stimulation to bridge gaps in lives that can miss this type of engagement – we really enjoy seeing these interactions and the difference they make – we all learn a lot too – there is so much to share from generation to generation.
